For the Love of Middle-earth Music
interview by Dan Cruver

Eurielle

From an idyllic, leafy Yorkshire upbringing and a lifetime dedicated to classical training comes Eurielle.

To date, Eurielle has built up a substantial catalogue of releases which have attracted a large fan base online, with millions of views and streams of her recordings and videos on both YouTube and Spotify. Her work has already earned her the recognition and endorsement of BBC Introducing, and playlist placement on national classical music radio station, Scala Radio as well as one of Spotify’s own official curated playlists, and several of her songs have been sampled by internationally famous artists and DJs including American hip-hop trio, Migos, and Hardstyle legends – Headhunterz, Wildstylez and Sound Rush.

Her natural ability to connect with her voice, coupled with a pure simplicity of tone has subsequently resulted in strong demand for her vocals for high profile film, TV and video game soundtracks from pre-eminent composers including Emmy Award winning John Lunn, Harry Potter composer Nicholas Hooper, and two time Ivor Novello Award winning Benjamin Wallfisch, seeing Eurielle record for the likes of Downton Abbey, Disney, the BBC, the Rio Paralympics 2016, Kaleidoscope Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Shazam! (New Line Cinema: Warner Brothers).

Following the successful release of her second album “Goodbye Butterfly”, 2020 is proving to be another busy and exciting year for Eurielle with several more major soundtrack projects in the pipeline and notable collaborations planned!

From Dan:

Eurielle has one of the best Middle-earth like voices you will have ever heard. Five years ago, she uploaded her gorgeous rendition of the ‘Son of Durin’ to YouTube and it has been enjoyed 4.3 million times. She’s also upload other Middle-earth songs that have been listened to 2.3 million (‘Bridge of Khazad-Dum’) and 1.8 million (‘Lament for Thorin’) times respectively. In this interview, we talk about her love of Middle-earth music, some of the soundtracks (Downton Abbey) for which she’s recorded music, and her latest album.
